St. Louis Blues Notes

The Blues entered the postseason in the middle of the pack on the futures odds board to win the Stanley Cup. But after looking impressive in defeating the Winnipeg Jets and seeing all four division winners get knocked out in the first round, the Blues are now a favorite to win the Stanley Cup at +350 odds.

St. Louis has proven it can win in multiple ways this postseason with strong defensive efforts allowing two goals or less five times or with its offense as shown in its 4-3 victory in Game 3.

Since January 23, the Blues have been one of the best teams in the NHL with a 30-9-4 record over 43 games per the OddsShark NHL Database.

Dallas Stars Notes

After finishing the regular season ranked 28th in the NHL in scoring with 2.55 goals per game, the Stars have generated a lot more offense this postseason with three goals per game through their first nine games.

The team owned a sterling 2.00 goals against average against Nashville, but that number has shot up to 3.00 through the first three games of this series. If Dallas hopes to win this series it will need to get back to playing the elite defense that got the Stars into the postseason. Dallas is 4-2 in its last six home games against the Blues.

Blues at Stars Betting Total

Wednesday night’s total is set at five goals at online sports betting sites. The OVER is 3-1-1 in the last three games between these two division rivals.

Both of St. Louis’ wins in this series have been by one goal, and the Blues’ one loss in Game 2 was only a two-goal loss due to an empty netter with three seconds left. This has been a close series that feels destined to be a long one, but St. Louis has the chance to take a stranglehold on it with a win on Wednesday.
